A Lesson From Lecter
Since I've never been the best at drawing consistent eyes, I've always used other subtile touches to establish things like power struggles in my off-time drawings, so this article was a hit and a miss for me.
My general opinion aside, Silence of the Lambs does an amazing job convey the "fight" for power between Starling and Lecter using only the intensity of the eye contact. It's interesting how well things like tension and struggle are conveyed through only simple touches like eyeline and point of view. While a lower camera angle is used to show a character has power, and a high angle takes said power away. The scene in question not only switches between that principle, it also has the characters speaking and looking directly into the camera, adding to the intensity. To palpable examples of the power struggle are Starling sitting down vs. Lecter standing up, and Starling in a medium shot while Lecter is close up. Finally it conveys all of this without using lengthy dialog.

Hullabaloo:
Anyone else excited that there is a new 2-D animated movie in the works? I know I sure am. Especially when I see that Disney veterans like James Lopez( Lion King,Pocahontas )and Rick Framiloe( The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, etc ) are working on it.
While 3-D animation can produce breath-taking movies, and they certainly are very many good ones( like How To Train Your Dragon and WALL-E for example ), I find myself missing charming 2-D animation in movies. So, I was excited to learn of Disney's new project, Hullabaloo. First of all, the movies set in a Steampunk style( Victorian Age+Future tech ), which always has neat potential to it. It also has two intelligent, female engineers as the main protagonists, rather than some brave prince who saves the princess from blah-blah-blah( Good step forward Disney ). Disney's goal for the movie on Indiegogo was $80,000, they are currently at $303,854 and the donation period isn't even over, so I'm clearly among a lot of people who want 2-D animated movies to come back.

The Order 1886 looks like a pretty good game in my opinion, and sounds like its doing a really good job at going with the narrative aspect( Sucks that its PS4 exclusive though....). I really like that they're taking the time to put it in a imperfect window perspective(lens curvature, vignette and lens dirt, etc), which give it a more realistic look by taking points from cinematography.
